You as the Client

The core belief of JRD Media is straightforward – to act as your representatives throughout the entire recruitment process. When we meet with potential Candidates we act as your eyes and ears in sourcing the right individual for each position.

We endeavour to know as much as possible about your business, the department, the position itself and the key figures that have an influence on the position. Therefore, all we ask is a little time so that we can listen to and understand all your requirements. This process can be done over the phone if we are familiar with your company and the key personnel. We politely request a meeting for all new Clients.

Services

JRD Media offers a range of services tailored to your needs and primarily handles permanent positions at a mid to senior level. There are three main approaches to any recruitment campaign – contingency, retained assignment and client paid advertising.

Contingency

This is the most common method of recruiting for mid level roles. Typically, you will brief two or three recruitment consultancies who will introduce between three and five CVs depending on the nature of the role. A fee is only payable once the Candidate has commenced working for their new employer and is based on their first year’s annual salary..

Retained Assignment

Used primarily for more senior positions, the recruitment process is broken down into three steps:-

  1. Acceptance of the assignment
  2. Introduction of a shortlist of candidates
  3. Placement of one of these candidates.

In contrast with the contingency approach, with each completed step a fee is payable. This is customarily 1/3 of the expected total fee although there are many variations which we are happy to discuss with you.

Client Paid Advertising

A specific and targeted campaign, often useful when Clients want to attract Candidates from outside the UK or perhaps look beyond the media industry. We run an advert or series of adverts approved by you and handle all the responses, interviewing and shortlisting Candidates in the usual manner. The cost of the advertising is charged to you and the placement fee is payable either on a contingency or retained assignment basis.

Fees

Usually accompanied by dark mutterings from the Client’s Finance Director irrespective of the rate, JRD Media’s fees are calculated based on the Candidate’s first year’s annual salary. As with most aspects of business, the fees are negotiable depending on agreed terms and take into consideration such criteria as exclusivity, volume of roles, guaranteed future business or payment terms.

Terms & Conditions

JRD Media prides itself in operating with openness, fairness and integrity and has rarely had cause to refer a client to a particular clause or point of law. Having said this terms and conditions are essential in protecting both parties involved in any business relationship so a copy will be sent to every new client.

Salary Guide

A comprehensive salary guide will be made available in November 2009. Until then, please get in touch should you want any advice on market salaries

Service Approach

What you can expect from JRD Media

Often, a Candidate’s first real insight into a company or department is via the Recruitment Consultant so from first contact and throughout the entire recruitment campaign, JRD Media is inextricably linked with you, the Client. We take your representation seriously and act on your behalf with the same care and attention as if you were conducting the recruitment yourself.

In terms of specifics, each and every Candidate will have been thoroughly briefed on the role, encompassing key criteria such as:

Each CV details education and employment history and, for senior positions, is accompanied by a Candidate Profile detailing notable achievements, management style, strategic approach and other elements of the role that you deem significant. Although not a comprehensive psychological evaluation, an insight into personality is also included.

What JRD Media expects from you

It is essential for any recruitment campaign to run smoothly that we have a clear and comprehensive brief incorporating an overview of the business and department, the key responsibilities of the position, an outline of the future of the role and the type of personality that will fit into the current dynamic.

It is advisable that we meet with you personally to cover the above, and much more, and also of course for you to meet us so you see just who will be out there representing you in your industry.
